Next Train to Nowhere released March 2011

Following the split of 'Glass Child' Stephen had a four year break from music before he began recording some acoustic demos with friend and fellow musician John Kettle. John, also a songwriter and guitarist had achieved success himself in the 90s with a band called ‘The Tansads’, suggested the pair produced and re-record the demos with the view to making an album. Two years on and the album was complete. "Next Train To Nowhere" contains 12 very well written tales and was released in March 2011 on the Purpular Records label.

Stephen's debut album "Next Train to Nowhere" contains 12 very interesting tales about love, hate, hope, freedom, addiction and peace.

"Liar Liar"

Taken from the album "Next Train To Nowhere". Song about the lies told in the aftermath of the Hillsborough disaster in 1989. All proceeds from the sale of the song have and will always be donated to HJC, HFH and HFSG. Justice for the 96, Justice for the survivors. I don't buy the Sun!

Lyrics for Liar Liar by Stephen Smith

It's a truth that's a lie, it's an anger inside,
It's a rage I cannot contain.
It's a story to tell, it's a smear to sell,
You sold dignity with no shame.

Well I for one won't let,
Won't let myself forget,
I don't buy the sun.
I don't buy the sun.

There's a tear in my eye, 96 reasons why,
There's a flame that forever burns.
There are songs to be sung, they can't change what has gone,
I pray one day that justice will come.

And I for one won't let,
Won't let myself forget,
I don't buy the sun.
I don't buy the sun.

Liar Liar Liar Liar,
Liar Liar Liar Liar.

Well I for one won't let,
Won't let myself forget,
I don't buy the sun.
I don't buy the sun.

There's a scar in my head, there's a sea that is red,
There's a feeling I can't explain.
There's a reason for hate, there's a liar to name,
Here's ‘THE TRUTH', You should be ashamed.

Well I for one won't let,
Won't let myself forget,
I never will forget.
I don't buy the sun.
I don't buy the sun.

LFCTV ask Stephen Smith why he wrote "Liar Liar". In a very honest interview, Stephen speaks of his love for Liverpool Football Club and how the media coverage following the Hillsborough disaster sickened him.

Stephen Smith performs "Liar Liar" live for LFCTV. The song is taken from Stephen's debut album "Next Train To Nowhere".
