Phil Gwilliam

Phil Gwilliam was born on Tuesday October 18th 1977, in St Helens, Merseyside.

Before becoming an actor, Phil excelled in the sport of Rugby League where he played for Blackbrook, Lancashire, St Helens and Warrington. Both his Dad, Alan and Uncle, Ken played professionally for St Helens and Warrington Rugby League Clubs.

At 19 after suffering an injury during a tackle, where according to onlookers his left leg went one way while his right leg went the other, snapping both ham strings. Phil turned to acting.

Phil is also a professional singer/songwriter under the stage name PHIL G. Phil is an experienced performer who has also worked regularly in regional theatre and is competent at most sports.

An attempt at a We Will Rock You sporting and stadium anthem. Slightly unfinished needs to be a lot bigger but it does tell you what sound I was going for.

Phil is an ELS registered drama teacher for young people aged 7 to 16.

Phil can also be seen in the 2014 BAFTA longlisted short film 'Checkpost' with Manjinder Virk.

The well received two handed crime thriller 'A Hand To Play' opposite Hellraiser actor Doug Bradley.

The family drama 'Paper And Plastic' with Emmerdale's Anthony Quinlan.

The character of Fretwell in the short Comedy 'Confidence' as well as the part of David in US company Ravenbanner's horror anthology 'Exhibits'.

Phil is an Equity member, and 2016 saw him playing the supporting role of 'Sinny' in the British sports comedy Gridiron UK, released in cinemas in October 2016.
