Eager customers have already begun snapping up badges and packages to a great selection from its 33 scheduled race days, right up to the final event of the year on December 30, with overall advance sales up 35 per cent on the same time last year. RITA ORA has been revealed as the singing sensation who will bring down the curtain on Haydock Park’s 2013 summer music nights with a smash-hit concert. The urban star, who had three number one singles last year and saw her debut album Ora top the charts too, will perform at the racecourse on Friday 9 August. Bill Whittle (70) is to retire as Chairman of Haydock Park Racecourse after 31 years, course owners The Jockey Club announced today. He will be succeeded by Peter Daresbury in May following the start of Haydock Park's 2013 Flat season. Lord Daresbury will continue as Chairman of Aintree Racecourse. Main Image:

The iconic 2 tone pop band have been revealed as the first of three acts who will perform at the racecourse’s music nights this year. Frontman Suggs and his fellow band mates Chas Smash, Barzo, Chrissy Boy, Thommo and Woody will be on track on Saturday evening 20 July when the racecourse will reverberate to pop classics such as One Step Beyond, Baggy Trousers and It Must Be Love.
