Oddity Roadkicked off 2018 with their biggest headline gig as 500 people crammed into a sold out Sheffield Academy. They followed this up with a UK support slot alongside The Sherlocks and their own UK headline dates.

The four 18 year old school mates played over 50 gigs and 25 festivals in 2017 including an infamous BBC Introducing headline set to 4000 people at Y Not festival.

With new songs in the bagOddity Roadplan to build on their relentless work ethic to reach an even bigger fan-base through 2018. For fans of the big indie chorus.

"It's really a fairly simple love story for our mates.  We're all 18, our mates are. We go out in town, spend what little money we have, sometimes drink too much and we're all trying to meet that someone.

The song starts with that first glance across a room, a one night stand? But it's not really about that, it's about how you start spending time together, fall in love and will do anything for each other; before the inevitable fall out, regret and broken hearts.?

Granfalloon
Granfalloon is the musical moniker of Richard Lomax and his folktronica group based in Manchester. Folktronica is a mixture of folk and electronica. Instruments include Omnichords, acoustic guitars, Casio keyboards, and 80's drum machines.

It's a delightfully laid back slice of addictive lo-fi electronic goodness which is lyrically both poignant and amusing. Brian will be spinning Ambulance on the Radio KC Indie Show on Sunday 4th of February so tune in!

No 8: Bad Llama

We played the last Bad Llama single Apocrypha on the Radio KC Indie Show in November of last year to much critical comment, so it's no surprise we bring you news of their latest single Crooked Empire as a precursor to the imminent release of their EP of the same name.

The single will be getting a pre-release spin on The Indie Show of 18.2.18 so remember to tune in from 5-7pm.

No 9: Dean Owens

Errant Boy
Published:
Description:
Image may contain: 2 people, people sitting and outdoorWe Like You is the firstErrant Boysingle of 2018 and a preview of their forthcoming second album, due later this year. Boasting their signature melodic guitar manoeuvres and lyrical unease, it?s a worthy follow up to last autumn?s Means track which appeared on several best of 2017 lists.

Errant Boyhas a sound that's pretty unique but if you were to twist my arm for a comparison they're a cross betweenJonathan Richmanand a perkier version of St Helens legendary bandThe Bordelloswho are on a quest to annoy as much of the mainstream music industry as possible.

This is Errant Boyat their off-beat best. The track is as like-able as it is addictive. Not so much lo-fi Doom Pop; more jangly-fi (yes I just made that up especially) Quirk Pop, and is the most fun I've had listening to music with my clothes on so far in 2018.

Brian will be playing the track on theRadio KC Indie Showthis Sunday so tune in onrkc.noip.meInternet Radio 5-7pm.

LYRICS Eyes wide, not thinking Pretending that you're not drinking No brain, white fame Has found its way up your nose again Cowley kills you Every other Wednesday night Leather jackets Will steer you into another fight She said'We're up all night'Don't wait for me I'll take my time and then see you Breaking down again Pretending to cry and that I miss you Pulling out your hair You want your mother dead Forget what I just said, just go and dance instead.
