Initially Jack Bennett (lead singer and guitarist), Matty Bennett (drummer), and Connor Moran (lead guitarist) started the band as part of a school music project, however, after realising their star potential they started playing gigs around their hometown of St Helens. After playing the odd gig at local bars and clubs, they decided to take it further and write their own material to become an originals band. They then enlisted the help in new bass player, Johnny Waring to complete the line-up.

Stillia are self taught musicians who created a Rock n Roll band that have been influenced by many great artists such as; The Beatles, The Who, Rolling Stones, Stone Roses, The Smiths, Oasis and many more. After the first 6 months the original Stillia songs started to come together. The sounds were crafted from the influential artists that the members of Stillia look up to. The sound, lyrics and style coming from Stillia’s front-man Jack was crafted and inspired by his most influential band The Beatles and songwriter John Lennon.

Stillia ‘Let You Know’ Official Video

Stillia started in the early days of 2011 as an acoustic trio, What went from one member sat in his room recording Beatles covers, turned into a 4 piece ROCK N ROLL band.

Over the months Stillia’s line up had changed going from a five piece band into an all lads four piece rock n roll band. From there Stillia got back on track and started to gig around Sutton, Ashton and Burtonwood. Over the past month Stillia’s line up changed once again and now the original members of Stillia are now Jack, Dave and Matty.

With new addition to the band, lead guitarist Conor Moran, Stillia have had countless rehearsals and got them selves back on track. After gelling together again in a short space of time and realising they all have the same resounding love for the music as well as the passion, Belief and determination that their songs and the band could one day be touring an album worldwide and selling out thousands seats at stadiums, The dream they chase.

In the rehearsal room they combine Johnny’s bass lines, mostly influenced by John Entwistle and Paul Mccartney. Lead Guitarist Connor, creates the riffs, solo’s and the main guitar parts, with his many influences, such as, David Gilmour, Noel Gallagher, Slash. Then Finally piecing it all together, the drum beats, the crossing arm, speed fills come from the drummer, Matty. His self taught techniques and influences by drummers such as, Travis Barker, Matt Helders, Keith Moon, cozy powell and many more. This band sure has got what it takes. Clint Boon – ” Ace, Faultless xxx” Billy Bibby (Catfish and the Bottlemen) – “So Tight…They’re all mint…Very impressed with your guitarist.

The name Stillia came about when they were thinking of names for the band and Matty was saying the worst band names. Jack said to Matty “are you still here” and suddenly they thought that would be a good name for the band, so they changed still here to Stillia, its silly but it stuck.

Jack and Matty studied music at Sutton Academy. Connor studied music at St Helens College.
