Dear Samantha Cameron – Single

The True Meaning of Record Store Day released 17 April 2015

Track 1 – written by Brian and Dan Bordello

This is self explanatory.

Lyrics

Cotton candy fill tune brain
Amusing yourself as you queue in the rain
Thinking of the price you’ll have to pay
For the vinyl you’ll never play

Buy buy buy til the music dies
Buy buy buy

Tell me the true meaning of record store day

The majors took over the game they play
The independents can no longer afford to play
Forgetting the phase they go to the haze
Tell me the meaning of record store day

Tell me the meaning of record store day

No cute split EPs
Just rows and rows of pink vinyl Bruce Springsteen LPs
It’s enough to bring me down to my knees
On record store day

Brian Bordello – Vocals and Guitar,
Dan Bordello – Drum Machine/Keyboards/Bass and Backing Vocals

Track 2 – written by Brian Bordello

Cut off my head to spite the mirror
Singing songs nobody wants to hear
Loving my own gunpowder plot
Gonna bomb psychedelia
Just a cat who hates the cream
No longer sleeps too busy dreaming
Loving my own gunpowder plot
Gonna bomb psychedelia

Catnap catnap gonna need a catnap
Catnap catnap I’m gonna need a catnap
Catnap catnap I’m gonna need a catnap

Taking action against the high
Drinking overpriced beer to get myself by
Gonna make my own gunpowder plot
Yeah I’m gonna bomb psychedelia
Velvet clothes his mother’s old size
Euro Syd Barrett all very nice
Loving my gunpowder plot
Gonna bomb psychedelia

Credits:

Brian Bordello – Vocals and Guitar,
Dan Bordello – Synth and Bass,
Ant Bordello – Percussion and Backing Vocals

Track 3 – written by Dan Bordello and Laura Richardson

It’s no secret I adore you
It’s no secret I desire you
No I am not the one your affection lingers on
I continue to admire
Though a longing I’ll confess to
I have no wish to possess you
For you are not an object for anyone to collect
It would be in no one’s interests

And how I wish that I could forget you
But I know I’d just fall for you again
Seems that I never learn
Yes, it seems that I never learn

Guess I should’ve seen it coming
I should’ve known from the beginning
I should’ve known that you would flee from me
Too long had I been winning
It’s a hollow victory, what you’ve been doing to me
Now I’m on my knees d’you see what you’ve been doing to me

Don’t talk when I’m not in the room
Don’t talk to your friends about me
Don’t even talk to yourself
Stop stealing my ideas, writing them all down
And please stop saying I’m paranoid
I know that’s what anyone says

And how I wish that I could forget you
But I know I’d just fall for you again
Seems that I never learn
Yes, it seems that I never learn

Dan Bordello – Vocals/Pump Organ and Noise,
Brian Bordello – Bass and Noise,

Lo Fi – Various released April 20, 2015

A very nice compilation of Lo-fi songs. Compiled by Claire Wilcock (Freaksville Uk) and Benjamin Schoos. Art cover by Brian Carney.

Brian wrote the following on Facebook in October 2017: I am currently looking for a 4 track cassette of songs I wrote with Cilla Black in mind to sing. I called it “Songs For Cilla”. It was recorded years ago. The Belgium band The Winter Tyres recorded some songs from it and this track (Handsome Jack), was released on the lofi comp on Freaksville Records. If I can find the cassette I am going to see if i can find a label to release it on cd.

KASSETTE

by Schizo Fun Addict/The Bordellos – released November 24, 2015

Limited edition Cassette/CD package – Cassette + Digital Album

This is one of our most ambitious projects yet. A limited-edition split cassette (professionally duplicated – not dubbed on my mum’s old Amstrad) from Schizo Fun Addict (NYC area) and St Helens’ Bordellos – hand-stamped, numbered and hand-decorated by Jet and Sister Jayne from SFA and featuring as part of the artwork sections of a numbered John Squire lithograph.

Tracks 1-11 comprise the new eponymous titled album by Schizo Fun Addict – while tracks 12-22 comprise the new eponymous titled album by The Bordellos. Each of these also takes up one side of tape apiece.

We’re also hooking up with the amazing psychedelic gurus at Fruits De Mer Records who are providing a strictly one-time-only CD version of their festive split from Ex Norwegian/Permanent Clear Light. The only other way of getting this is as a lathe-cut 7″, only available to FDM Members’ Club members. Rarer than rare, is what I’m saying.

The package also includes SBR releases from Phil Reynolds & The Dearly Departed, Postcode and Clara Barker.

Why all the goodies, you ask?

Well, I’ll tell ya…

It’s Christmas, and all proceeds (apart from postage costs) are going to Save The Children. Once the 100 cassette/CD packages are sold out, every penny made on digital downloads will be going to STC for ever.

Includes unlimited streaming of KASSETTE via the free Bandcamp app, plus high-quality download in MP3, FLAC and more.

SOLD OUT

Crazy musics, crazy people. Schizo Fun Addict are from New Jersey in the US, The Bordellos from St Helens in the UK. Both are mavericks, both take pop and rock and twist it to their own ends. Both are your new favourite bands. All profits from this package go to Save The Children

Supported by Gavin Hellyer. An exceptional release for many reasons really, not least because of the excellent Save The Children cause. Also, though, unlike most Split projects, it features 2 FULL new albums from 2 very fine current groups, one from the US and one from the UK. Favorite track: I May Be Reborn.

Melody Inn

Melody Inn – Taken from the album “Kassette”, on Small Bear Records. Published on 26 November 2015.

Dear Samantha Cameron released 1 December 2015

Judge a society by how it treats its most vulnerable members.

Pity Samantha Cameron, each man hurts the things he loves: the entire country is an abusive relationship with him so imagine how awful he is to her. When areas in this, one of the richest countries in the world, are so squalid the only thing you can thank him for is providing an answer to the question of whether it’s possible to be evil and stupid at the same time.
