The Underground Tape Vol 1 released 1 June 2015

Track 1 – recorded many many years ago pre Bordellos when we where called Onion King on TAPE 4 TRACK.. ..we rerecorded it in the studio and it appears on the Bordellos “Songs for Swinging Stalkers” LP .. but this is the better version ..myself and gary where very drunk indeed if I remember correctly recording this ..in fact I fell off the chair as I was recording the vocals and if you listen carefully enough you will be able to spot the fall.

The Underground Tape Vol 3 released 1 August 2015

The third in the series of unreleased Bordellos songs recorded over the last 15 years.

Track 1 – written by Brian Shea/Gary Storey.
There are two different mixes of this track the first and better mix can be found on our debut LP “Songs for Swinging Stalkers” LP released on Brutarian Records, but this is still one of my fave Bordellos songs.

Credits:

Brian Shea – vocals , guitar,
Geoff Parr – vocals guitar,
Gary Storey – bass,
Vinny Oates – keyboards/drum programming,
Ant Shea – percussion.

Track 2 – written by Brian Shea. This is one of my fave songs again. We have never recorded this and released it but I gave it away to the wonderful Belguim based band the Winter Tyres to record, who did a wonderful version on their debut LP. This version was recorded for the Jeff Grainger Dandelion Radio show.

Credits:

Dan Shea – vocals,
Brian Shea – acoustic guitar,
Paul Wright – lead guitar,
Ant Shea – percussion.

Track 3 – written by Brian Shea/Gary Storey. This is the 4 track demo version of one of our most popular tracks. The full Stalkers lineup of the Bordellos version can be found on our “Songs for Swinging Stalkers” LP. It was also briefly released as a single but the label went bust a few days after the release, but it did mange to make a list of the best 500 singles when released. This is the lovely lo-fi crackly old 4 track demo version.

Credits:

Brian Shea – vocals/guitar,
Gary Storey – bass,
Ant Shea – drum machine.

Track 4 – written by Brian Shea/Dan Shea. Recorded using an old webcam mic, about 7 years ago. Myself and Dan recorded a whole LP that was going to be released on Welshcake Records until it folded. This was my fave track off the unreleased LP.

Credits:

Dan Shea – vocals, keyboards,
Brian Shea – guitar, stylophone.

The Underground Tape Vol 4 released 3 March 2016

Track 1 – written by David Bowie. Our version recorded for an online stream competition for the “God is in the TV” blog a few years ago.

Credits:

Dan Shea – vocals, drum machine,
Brian Shea – guitar, bass,
Ant Shea – makes a lovely cup tea.

Track 2 – written by Brian Shea. Recorded in 2009 on a broken webcamp mic, never before released. Originally called Nat King Cunt, but due to complaints from Ant changed the title. I apologize to any Nat KING Cole fans, I don’t think him a cunt, I am a bit of a fan and he was my mum’s fave singer.

Credits:

Brian Shea – vocals, guitar, bass,
Dan Shea – keyboards,
Ant Shea- bongo drum

Track 3 – written by Brian Shea. This version was recorded for the session for the Jeff Grainger show on Dandelion Radio. We recorded 5 songs, he aired only 3, this not being one of them. We later went on and recorded a much better version for our Ronco Revival Sound LP, released on Daddy Tank Records. The chattering before the songs starts is about a bottle of aftershave Ant had received.

Credits:

Brian Shea – vocals, acoustic guitar,
Dan Shea – harmony vocals,
Ant Shea – harmonica,
Paul Wright – lead guitar

Track 4 – written by Brian Shea. Recorded for a tribute EP to Julian Cope but never released. Only offered to Fruits de Mer Records but they turned it down, probably wisely as the EP is probably the maddest thing we have recorded. This track was maybe my fave song on this EP as it has Nia Shea on bass so we come even closer to a psychotic Partridge Family I so long to be.

Credits:

Brian Shea – vocals, guitar,
Dan Shea – keyboards, percussion,
Nia Shea – bass,
Ant Shea – strange spoken vocals

The Underground Tape Vol 5 released 29 January 2017

Track 1 – written by Dan Shea. Recorded for a WA11 Radio session.

Credits:

Dan Shea – vocals/organ

Track 2 – written by Bo Diddley. We recorded 2 versions of this song for a Fruits de Mer Records release, they chose version 2. This is the never heard, never released version 1 which has no phased intro and has a slightly shorter outro, also has a bit more balls than the released version.

Credits:

Brian Shea – vocals/guitar/bass,
Dan Shea – drums/keyboards/backing shouts,
Ant Shea – harmonica

Track 3 – written by Brian Shea. Recorded a couple of years ago and for some strange reason never released, a beautiful refound gem.

Credits:

Brian Shea – vocals/guitar,
Dan Shea – bass

Track 4 – written by Brian Shea. The released version of this can be found on our Ronco Revival Sound LP released on Daddy Tank Records. This is the original version with mysef[Brian] singing lead vocals the day before we sent the LP to Daddy Tank to release. I decided I did not like my vocals, so Dan quickly reecorded them himself and did a much better job and as mentiond can still be found on the Ronco Revival Sound LP which can be bought at www.daddytank.co.uk

Credits:

Brian Shea- vocals/guitar/bass,
Dan Shea – backwards guitar/drum machine,
Ant Shea – bring me sunshine vocals/harmonica
