The Underground Tape Vol 6 released 2 April 2017

Vol 6 of the ongoing trawl through the vaults of the unreleased, the radio sessions and alternate versions and rare Bordellos tracks.

The Vol 6 four track EP is a collection of radio sessions and unreleased tracks, which give us a more internal look at this prolific UK group. The songs are raw and edgy, as always for the Bordellos, and also features a duet with Dee Claw from American cult garage band Persian Claws. The track was made by passing the digital files back and forth across the Atlantic until they were happy with it.

The Bordellos are always a good bet for enjoyable records. Stream and download Underground Tape Vol. 6 for free at the link above.

The Underground Tape Vol 8 released 15 September 2017

Track 1 – written by Scott Walker. A song we recorded for inclusion for a tribute to Scott Walker on the “God is in the TV” blog, but due to a malfunction on Dan’s 8 track we could not get the damn thing off there, so missed the deadline. We eventually did and here it is, our tribute to our musical hero Scott. We have offered this track to a few labels but nobody wants it. Fruits de Mer and Mega Dodo take a bow.

Credits:

Dan Shea – vocals/guitars/drum machine,
Brian Shea – keyboards

Track 2 – written by Brian Shea. Recorded for the wonderful Neil Crud radio session on Tudno FM.

Credits:

Brian Shea – vocals/guitar,
Dan Shea – lead guitar/harmony vocals

Track 3 – written by Brian Shea/Dan Shea. Recorded about 8 years ago and never released on anything.

Credits:

Brian Shea – vocals/guitar,
Dan Shea- lead guitar/toy drum pads

The Underground Tape Vol 9 released 13 October 2017

Track 1 – written by Brian Shea/Gary Storey. Recorded live onto a 16 track in Ant’s living room in the “Songs for Swinging Stalkers” days. Just a demo/rehearsal version, although we did record a 32 track version in the barn studio. Sadly that version was wiped when the Stalkers version of the band split in two.

Credits:

Brian Shea – vocals/guitar,
Gary Storey – bass,
Geoff Parr – lead guitar,
Ant Shea – percussion

Track 2 – written by Brian Shea. This song was written as we traveled on the busy roads of London on the way to play a gig in Wimbledon in 2009. It was recorded for the never released “Huckleberry in the Kingdom of the Brokenhearted” LP. Recorded over a weekend on the famous broken webcam mic, a bit of a lost but now re-found classic.

Credits:

Brian Shea – vocals/guitar

Track 3 – written by Dan Shea/Brian Shea. Recorded in 2015 along with loads of other songs that appeared on the “Life, Love And Billy Fury” LP, but never made the final cut.

Credits:

Dan Shea- vocals/bass/drum machine,
Brian Shea- guitar,
Ant Shea/Cath Shea – background conversation

Track 4 – written by Yoko Ono. We recorded this for a free EP of covers that was released by Daddy Tank Records, this of course is the Yoko Ono song. We recorded two songs, this one and a version of “I Never Dreamed” by the Cookies. The I Never dreamed track was the one that was chosen. That EP can be downloaded for free from www.daddytank.co.uk/freep2.php.

Credits:

Brian Shea – vocals/guitar,
Dan Shea – drums,
Ant Shea – harmonica
